spanish craze, federer doomed

crushed federer-induced spanish craze

Today, at exactly somewhere 2:00 to 2:05 am (how can it be exactly?), I uncovered a book from a wastehouse called "my room" that surprisingly imposed upon me an uncharacteristic enthusiasm that I don't usually give for disgusting books (in terms of the outside appearance).

Insert thought:
Kaya nga siya uncharacteristic kasi you don't usually do it. You write redundantly stupid Alec, stop it!

The book looked like it was published a hundred thousand years ago, smelled like it's paper is entirely made up of dust, felt like it was stepped upon by a thousand elephants, but still I dared to open the book.

The book was not a fictional work, not a commentary-type of book of any sort and I was surprised to know that it was a textbook (it's strangely small for a textbook).

A Textbook about Spanish- Spanish Grammar and Composition. Customarily, I should have closed and discarded the book right there and then. BUT because I was too depressed to sleep and too bored to just gaze in my room's white ceiling, I just opted to "glance" what was written in the book. Well, time flew and three hours after that, what originally was suppose to be just a wee bit of "glance" suddenly turned out to be a manic "devour". I suddenly became addicted in Spanish as if my life depended on it. And yes, I'm proud to say that from now on I will devote a part of what's left in my life learning Spanish. Not French, not Italian, not German, not Swahili or whatosever, but Spanish. Well it doesn't mean I will not quench my thirst to be multi-lingual, but as of now I will focus my powers that be in mastering the Spanish language. I surely can taste that A in Spanish 101 (ha!). My intended school has a foreign language requirement and I'm taking up Spanish, whatever happens, come rain or come shine (hai, katharine mcphee!) and I have two more years to learn Spanish for myself, and well you connect the dots if you can. Tinatamad na akong magsulat.

As to what caused my depression that lead me to the Spanish craze that I'm suddenly in, I blame it all to Federer. He got two match points already and he squandered it all. After five sets and five hours of what I say an incredible tennis match, Federer lost. Can you believe it? Gosh, what should he do to beat Nadal? I mean Federer's the world number one and Nadal is number two, but Federer can't seem to make justice to that no. 1 ranking. I mean losing 5 matches in a row, that's so not a no.1 tennis player material, isn't it?

Hoping that next time I will write a shorter post, adios!
